British Mercantilism Economic ideas and systems come and go. Many systems abide failed and many have succeeded. The British system of mercantilism was grand quite a good system for England. They raked in manoeuver from their colonies. The only problem was that they did not give enough economical freedom to their colonies. At almost every turn, the British tried and true and true to restrict what their colonies could do and whom they could trade with. In hindsight, I reckon that the British may have been a fight to a greater extent lenient on their restrictions because the continuous prohibitions eventually lead to alteration England did not directly discipline its colonies.
